Is this really December??? We enjoyed this beautiful day by setting out to quest for the mysterious "Terror Summit". Decided to add to the fun by linking up the Third Flatironette and Third Flatiron to access the upper slopes was an obvious choice and we were off. Unfortunately for us, we weren't the only peeps who noticed the weather, and the tremendous crowds on the Third drove us up the harder College Dropout. We enjoyed the route to ourselves, and I was happy to remember that this was my 20th time on this lofty summit. Fortunately, the traffic jam on the rappel route was solved by a nice gentleman who was happy to help us rappel directly west us by pulling our ropes from the summit . Plodding up slope proved some of the easiest bushwhacking in the Flatirons I've seen, and some scrambling deposited me staring directly at "Terror Summit". I placed a new register at the base of the summit block and soloed to the summit. The final moves proved very exposed for such a small route and the summit was tiny. A careful down-climb led to a pleasant hike out. The sunset was magical and illuminated the majestic Flatirons, reminding me why I keep coming back.
