Ridge 1 via Stairway to Heaven (5.3)
Ridge 3 via Angel's Way (5.2)
November 6, 2010
Another beautiful fall day in Colorado, so Shaun and I headed up to climb two long ridge-routes. By Flatiron standards, the approaches are very easy and we soon reached Ridge 1. We belayed the first pitch on Stairway and then soloed 99% of the rest. The steep descent between Ridge 1 and 2 was loose but quick. Angel's Way is generally easier and we also soloed most of the ridge. Ridge 3 hides behind the larger Satan's Slab and has a very remote wilderness feel to it. Stairway to Heaven and Angels Way are both classic routes and provide more than a thousand feet of Flatiron rock. Glad to be alive in Colorado!!!
