The Fatiron
October 3, 2010
Wanted to climb another one of Gerry Roach's "Top 10" Flatiron routes, I decided on the Fatiron. Unfortunately, all my regular partners were booked and I came up empty-handed. As a last resort, I posted on 14ers.com and mentioned the Fatiron. I was shocked to get a reply from somebody that was not only interested, but also knew what I was talking about. His name was Shawn and we arranged a meet time. He proved to be a tremendous guy and a good climber. His extensive knowledge of the Flatirons was impressive and we talked about obscure routes all day. The Fatiron is an enjoyable outing on good rock. We climbed the 5.6 variation on P2 and made good time. Another beautiful fall day in Colorado.
