Heading out some more Flatiron adventure, Shawn, Noah and I made for a full mountaineering ascent of Green Mountain. We left NCAR and chained together a series of formations all the way up. First we soloed the Regency and made the secret tunnel descent. Then we soloed to the top of Royal Arch before heading down and over to the base of the Fifth Flatiron. We climbed P1-5 of the Fifth and then soloed P6. After making the fun rappel we trudged over to the base of the Fist. After soloing P1 and 2 we made quick work of the final crack up to the summit. The views from here were amazing, but approaching dusk pushed us onward. The rappel off the Fist was awkward and we soon scrambled over East Green Mountain and connected with upper Greeman's to reach the top of Green Mountain. Pausing briefly to soak in the view, we noticed it had started to snow lightly. Not wanting to waste light, we powered down Green-Bear and made it back to NCAR just before dark. This was a classic example of Flatiron fun and we named it the Brother's Traverse. So many of these link-ups exist and keep the sense of adventure that abounds in the Flatirons.
